Had a good bunch of hours for a while, around 25 - 28 per week. I was recently brought in to the managers office and congratulated at the opening meeting for having the top loyalty conversion in the store. I do alright on other metrics, for a while I was top in battery sales, too. The same day, I got a guest survey for 100%, a really happy customer who was glad I knew what I was talking about and could explain it to them easily. I work hard, try to do my best every day, and regardless of the shoplifting, the terrible customers, and some of the day to day issues of retail, I actually do enjoy helping out customers who are in need of assistance. So today, I checked my schedule. Next week: 18 hours. The week after: 16.
They’ve been going down more since we hired new people, by demand from corporate. I’m tired of busting my ass to do good work, bring in guest surveys, and convert the metrics, only to lose 10 hours a week, almost $160 (before taxes) in my paycheck.
I can’t even tag this with a “lol” tag, guys. I feel bad for everyone who puts up with this in their respective jobs, and I hope we can someday be treated like actual human beings who have bills to pay and food to buy, a degree sitting in the corner not being used, and an inability to leave for fear that you’ll never again find work.

I’d make a million trips to his lips if I were a bee, because he’s sweeter than chocolate candy to me. He’s confectionery.
